The 2022 edition of the annual Early Career Workshop by the Chair of International Relations of FSU Jena was hosted in the Dornburg Castle between 3-5 October 2022. The event's goal was to bring together young researchers and provide an opportunity to present and discuss PhD dissertation projects. The participants represented a wide spectrum of research interest and sessions were delivered on topics such as the role of patronal networks in regional development projects in the Russian Far East, the conceptualization of the notion of Eurasia in geopolitical discourses, and QCA-led perspectives on the phenomenon of derecognition among others. together,there were eight panels focusing on the provision of feedback for the presenters on their research and on engaging the audience in an exchange of ideas regarding theoretical and methodological approaches. During lunch breaks the participants could enjoy local dishes in one of the traditional restaurants of the picturesque village of Dornburg and partake in a guided tour in the castle complex learning about its fascinating history. In the evenings, upon return to Jena, we enjoyed dinners together and summed up the daily work in a more informal setting.
