Submissions

Submissions should be based on sound research designs and contribute to theoretical innovation, while being grounded in strong empirical research. Hitherto neglected topics are welcome, as are innovative methodological approaches. Texts should clearly reflect and build on the state of the art and connect to ongoing discourses. We prefer monographs, but rarely also accept well-designed edited volumes. We expect an excellent academic writing style and formal text design. Manuscripts by non-native speakers have to be proof-read by a native speaker upon the author’s initiative. Authors from all countries and disciplines are invited to submit publications in either English or German.

We are looking forward to receiving your electronic mail containing a short exposé of your finalized or shortly to be finalized research work (max. five pages). The exposé should contain your research question, outline the theoretical approach, the research design and methods, the structure of your argument as well as major findings; we also ask for a CV (to be sent to carolina.rehrmann@uni-jena.de).

If we think your application is relevant for our series, we will invite you to send us the full manuscript. Manuscripts go through a two-step review: the first one is done by the editors, the second one by an anonymous reviewer. Dissertations may be exempted from peer-review if authors submit substantial reports written by their doctoral supervisors.

Requests for submission can be sent to  carolina.rehrmann@uni-jena.de
